Just before His crucifixion, the Lord shared a last meal with His disciples in connection with the Passover.  Since that time, the church celebrates communion as a sign of the New Covenant sealed by Christ's death and resurrection.  The communion elements are symbolic of the spilled blood and broken body of Christ according to 1 Corinthians 11:23-26.  Every week we celebrate communion during service.
