Genesis 45:27 - Amplified Bible - "But when they told him [Jacob] all the words of Joseph which he had said to them, and when he saw the wagons which Joseph had sent to carry him, the spirit of Jacob their father revived [and warmth and life returned]."
Are you an optimist of a pessimist? Consider this. When Jacob's sons came to him and said their brother Joseph, his favored son, was dead, he believed their lying report. Then when the same sons came to him many years later and said that Joseph is alive, and he's the governor of Egypt, he couldn't believe their true report. It was easier for him to believe the negative news, and harder for him to believe the positive news...it was just "too good to be true". That's pessimism - the tendency to dismiss the light and embrace the dark.
Jacob couldn't believe that Joseph was alive, but he also couldn't deny the wagons full of provision, riches, and food that Joseph had sent. These wagons came to take him to the land of Goshen, the best part of Egypt. Far better than where he was living, his land reduced to dust in the famine, and his expectations for his sons quickly fading. But, day after day, he reminded himself of his covenant with God, "In blessing I will bless you, and in multiplying, I will multiply you".
Hold on people, the wagons are coming for you too, overflowing with goods and provision from your loving Father! When Jacob saw the wagons, his soul was revived with "warmth and life". The wagons are coming for God's people, it's time for a supernatural wealth transfer. It's worth waiting for. God has not forgotten or forsaken you. Don't settle for good, wait for His best.
Pray this in faith..."Lord, I desire your best. Nothing else will do. I will wait for Your treasures. I will stop trying to make things happen my way. In Jesus' name, Amen."
Now get ready, the wagons are coming!
