"Thanks-given"

2 Peter 1:3 "According as his divine power has "given" unto us all things..."

My favorite holiday to celebrate has always been Thanksgiving.  As a child, I have great memories of our family going to the big rivalry football game on Thanksgiving morning and then waiting for the turkey to be cooked with all the fixins' and spending the whole day together as a family.  We have so much to be thankful for in our lives and in our country, it's such a wonderful time.

In 2 Peter 1:3, the apostle Peter says something so moving, "the power of God has already given us all things", in other words everything that God has promised you in His word, "it already is".  Jesus' last words on the cross were "it is finished", meaning "paid in full"!  In the mind of God, what you are believing for is already done!

So this Thanksgiving it's a great time to give thanks for all that is already "given" through the finished work on the cross of Jesus Christ...you are already healed, your children are already saved and serving God, God has already provided for your financial need, you are delivered, you are restored.  What are you believing for?  It has been given!  God said it and that settles it, so rejoice and be glad and celebrate this Thanksgiving with "thanks-given".

Here are four things to remember about "thanks-given"...

You can celebrate thanks-given every day not just once a year.
Count your blessings, start by remembering and declaring all the blessings that God has already done in your life.
God gives to us by grace, and we receive by faith [believing, speaking and doing].
Don't worry, be happy, rejoice, the spirit of joy brings the manifestation.
