Proverbs 4:18 - But the path of the righteous is like the light of dawn, which shines brighter and brighter until full day.
I just heard someone say, "In God, your future is so bright, you have to squint to see it". Don’t you love it!? I instantly thought of today's verse, which has blessed me countless times. That’s why I never have issues with getting older or saying my age. As a Christian, I know that life just keeps getting brighter and brighter with every passing day.
I'm so glad the author of Proverbs didn’t end the verse with, "Yes, life shines like the noonday sun then slowly fades into the darkness of night. We can't be happy all the time. Life is full of ups and downs!"
Nope, he described the God kind of life. Even when we face tremendous hardship and the storms of life hit, Jesus said, “We’re going to the other side". When you walk “through the valley of the shadow of death”, the key word is through…when you’re going through hell, don’t stop! And besides, it’s only a “shadow” of death, that means there’s a bright, shining sun on the other side of that shadow.
And don’t forget Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope” (ESV). We have a bright future ahead…I can’t wait for tomorrow!
